Lee Manzer recently spoke for Tedford Insurance at the March Executive Lunch Series.
Dr. Manzer has taught marketing at OSU for 38 years. Surprisingly, his undergraduate degree is in chemistry, from OSU of course! Dr. Manzer had offers to play college basketball at some smaller schools, but turned them down to study at OSU. He played intramural ball while he was an undergrad, and was selected for the Intramural All Star team.
After graduation, Dow Chemical snapped him up, where he had the opportunity to work in marketing research and then industrial sales – turning him toward his current marketing career. Despite a promising future at Dow, Dr. Manzer wanted to teach and came to OSU in 1969 to earn his PhD. While doing so, to make some extra cash he umpired Parks & Recreation softball, earning $1.50 a game!
Below were a few items from Lee’s talk…
1. Don’t edit out personal stories
2. Bring your best stories to work so as to inspire, teach, and comfort others in the work place
3. To bring stories, you must know stories
4. Sacred Bundle Template
